Welcome to EPIC Adventures

EPIC Adventures is a team of trained, experienced adventure therapy/team development facilitators and trainers specializing in adventure therapy groups, corporate leadership training/team building and adventure therapy training and consultation.

EPIC Adventures is the premier adventure therapy & Corporate Team Building provider in the South Florida and Treasure Coast area!

Adventure therapy is an emerging, cutting-edge treatment model in the psychotherapy field, which focuses on physically active and experiential approaches that engage, challenge and educate. These activities are designed to embody lessons and skills that teach individuals how to overcome life’s difficult situations and gain valuable personal insights. We utilize physical activity, the natural environment and specially designed experiential activities that elicit powerful emotions and allow you the opportunity to practice coping mechanisms in a real-world environment followed by in depth processing, gentle yet powerful challenges, and environmental inspiration. We believe that learning and change is an ACTIVE process and effective interventions need to take us out of our comfort zones and into new, exciting adventures.

Founded in January 2016, EPIC Adventures is the culmination of a dream. Founder/Owner Ricky Santiago along with his two founding partners, met while working together at an adventure-based substance abuse treatment center and found they shared the same passion for adventure-based treatment and a desire to bring these powerful interventions to everyone both in corporate and therapeutic settings – this is the heart of and mission of EPIC Adventures!! Today, Ricky carries on the legacy of EPIC Adventures and leads a new team of facilitator/trainers.

Ricardo A Santiago MS, MBA, LMHC, CCAT

Owner / Adventure Facilitator / Trainer

Ricardo Santiago MS, LMHC, CCAT (Ricky) has been serving his community as a licensed mental health counselor, educator and program director since 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and was licensed as mental health counselor in 2003. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He currently serves as Program Director of Mandala Healing Center, a substance abuse treatment facility in West Palm Beach, FL. Ricky has worked in a variety of clinical and corporate settings, developing a wealth of experience in counseling utilizing both traditional and adventure approaches in addition to almost 2 decades of management and supervision experience (with expertise in the areas of staff recruitment and retention).

Ricky is a member of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association as well as its local Palm Beach chapter. Additionally, he is a proud member of the Association for Experiential Education (AEE) and served on the Leadership Council of AEE's Therapeutic Adventure Professionals Group as Professional Development Coordinator from 2015 to 2019 where he assisted in the development of a certification program for adventure therapists and planning of professional conferences. He has presented adventure therapy workshops at numerous conferences nationwide in addition to developing and facilitating adventure therapy CEU trainings for clinicians locally. Ricky was awarded certification as a Clinical Adventure Therapist (CCAT) in December 2020 and was among the first 25 recipients of this distinction globally and the first CCAT in the south Florida area.
